I’ll be performing Scottish music and stories on Robert Burn's birthday, January 25th from 2-4pm. The show will include songs and poems of Robert Burns, Harry Lauder & Andy Stewart, stories of the silkes or seal people and Scottish reels and airs played on the bagpipes, mandolin, guitar, pennywhistle and banjo. I’ll also tell my story, "Angus McDonald's Nose" about a young lad who wins the Highland bagpipe competition by humming through his nose like a bagpipe. After the show I will recite Robert Burn’s "Address to a Haggis" and the audience will get to sample the traditional Scottish dish. There will also be a performance of the Scottish Royal Country Dancers.
The show will take place at the Hawthorne/Louis Bay Library at 345 Lafayette Ave. Hawthorne, NJ. The show is free for all ages but reservations are required. For information call: 973 427 5745 X 11.
