Share a Story - Change the World
For its first "Saturday Series" of workshops offered across the Commonwealth, Virginia Storytelling Alliance (VASA) will present a workshop for storytellers in southwest Virginia who wish to enhance their skills in marketing and research on Saturday, December 6, at the Virginia Highlands Community College (Building 3) in Abingdon, VA. The cost is $75 for VASA members and $85 for non-members. Lunch will be included in the cost. Following lunch will be coaching, story labs, and story swaps. An evening concert will complete the day.
GROW! with Kim Weitkamp; This workshop will help you market yourself to potential venues as well as festivals. Learn the in's and out's of promo packets, marketing tools, festival etiquette, and more. Proven techniques that garner results! Kim is proof this as she is fast becoming a regular on the festival circuit.
DIGGING HISTORY! with Paul Conco, pictured; This workshop will dig into and explore story research. Learn how to flesh out the important facts that make a story interesting. Paul will teach you how to weave those facts together into an interesting story of oral history. Paul has made much progress towards a Master's degree in Storytelling at East Tennessee
State University in Johnson City, TN. He is a member of Beaver Creek Storytellers of Bristol, VA and of VASA and has served on many community Boards.
