Share a Story - Change the World

I've been telling this ghost story ever since I was assigned it at a haunted village. It is a lot of fun. I thought it was written for the village and I got permission to use it from the person I thought wrote it. But now I find out that he just reworked it to fit the setting. And Some of the other stories he used are in fact copyrighted. So I've been looking for the original story so I can give where credit is due.

It is call "Amanda" and it is about a girl who is dreaming the same dream over and over again, walking along a path in a forest, through a to a house, knocking on the door and almost talking to an old man.

Do any of you know it and do you know who wrote it and where I can get a copy?

Many thanks.

Might it be Amanda Dreaming by Barbara Wersba?  It's briefly summarized as: A child dreams of beautiful, mystical, and fantastical things such as roses that sigh, witches with apples for eyes, and pearl ants fighting on her toes.

That sounds spooky enough to me.

Thanks, I'll look it up and see.

Nice story, but not the one I'm looking for.

thanks for helping
