Thought you all might enjoy this little press-release just letting us know that we "olde tyme country rennisance faire butter churners" are fading deeper and faster.

http://www.media.mit.edu/?page_id=176

Please note this quote.

“Storytelling is at the very root of what makes us uniquely human,” said Frank Moss, Media Lab director and holder of the Jerome Wiesner Professorship of Media Arts and Sciences. “It is how we share our experiences, learn from our past, and imagine our future. But how we tell our stories depends on another uniquely human characteristic–our ability to invent and harness technology. From the printing press to the Internet, technology has given people new ways to tell their stories, allowing them to reach new levels of creativity and personal fulfillment. The shared vision of the MIT Media Lab and Plymouth Rock Studios allows us to take the next quantum leap in storytelling, empowering ordinary people to connect in extraordinary ways.”

"quantum leap" kidz, "quantum leap."

Sigh.

Hello Everyone;

Please check your freindship request and either accept them or reject them. But please don't let them sit idle. If one hundred people do that, if keeps others from making new friends. Just go to your friends tabs, the little silloettes at the top right of your page, under your name and click it. I expect if you haven't found it by now... you may have many pending new friends.

Just a tip.

Hi y'all, thanks for doing this for us slower residents of cyberspace. I use myspace and facebook and that's about it, so I look forward to learning what is possible and what is most necessary. Don't want to overload my brain or my computer (which could possibly be the same thing). Onward, onward!

Yeah! Storytelling and technology - two of my favorite subjects!
We have been podcasting for two years now and recently we started Ustreaming (broadcasting live via web cam) shows whenever we have a WiFi connection. http://activated.libsyn.com/
Now if I can just figure out how to copy a DVD to send in the mail (without sounding like chipmunks) or at least upload it to YouTube. Did it before with another camera... oh why do they make it soooo difficult!!! My lap top keeps crashing.

Pingamatic.com is a way of alerting other blog platforms and tracking sties... google, yahoo or other blogsphere specialty sites that your blog is active.
If you have a blogspot blog you really don't need that service because your already in the first 100,000 website that google updates monthly. I would focus on leaving lots of links to your blog like this.

every where you leave a comment.

Today is International Story Day MAY 16th
International Story Day has two parts - sharing stories inthe flesh and posting them on the web.

Here is my story for International Story Day
http://youtube.com/watch?v=pcq_8qEZ7JI

- thanks to Andrea Lovett for inspiring me to try this digital story method
and to Brother Blue's open mic for listening as I struggled to remember
what actually happened so long ago...

Take time to share one of your stories
with someone/s, sometime, somewhere on FRIDAY
http://internationaldayblog.storycenter.org/
May 16th, tomorrow, which is International Story Day
try to upload this site or any site you can...

I have kept blogs as a principal, some personal stuff and travel blogs since a Fulbright Grant trip to Japan in 1997. Included podcasts on my travel blog from Ecuador in the summer of 2006. I see the travel blogs as storytelling enhancers. My Japan blog and Costa Rica blog included stories and poetry. My Nicaragua blog told the story of the importance of poetry in the revolution in that country. My next adventure is in Honduras in August of 2008. The price is great, the opportunity for adventure even greater. Want to join me? I have included a link to my travel blogs and the itinerary for Honduras. Let me know what you think.
