Profile Information

About Me:
I started telling stories when working as a camp counselor many years ago, telling ghost stories around the bonfires and folktales in the cabin after lights out, and have been at it ever since. I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and travel widely telling stories for audiences ranging from pre-school to teens, families, adults at schools, museums, festivals and more. I tell stories of Pennsylvania history (working with the Pennsylvania Humanities Council), ghost stories, Irish and Celtic tales, folktales from around the world, Shakepeare, medieval, and other tales as well. I have recorded several CDs of my stories (winning NAPPA and Storytelling World Honors awards for some of them.) For many years I published a storytelling journal called Works in Progress (still available on my website) which I hope to revive some day when I get time. I chaired the National Storytelling Conference in Pittsburgh in 2006 (which was a lot of fun.) I run a youth storytelling group called Logos at my church.
