About Me:
I went to first grade in high heels...

I've been telling stories about growing up in Virginia for fun, while my jobs as a camp director, teacher for Jamestown, and sideline as a first-person historical intrepreter for Frances Makemie keep fueling the storytelling fire.

HEAINTRIGHT.WEBS.COM FINDS ANOTHER NEW PLACE FOR TELLERS TO TELL

This summer I found a new, unique place to tell. A documentary company here in VA was doing a documentary on the many late nite horror movie hosts we have had here in VA. They came up with an excellent title: VIRGINIA CREEPERS. They advertised they were looking for folks with "STORIES"!!! As fate would have it, I do have a personal story about meeting one of these guys, THE BOWMAN BODY, perhaps VA's most endeared horror movie host. Important note: I did not make the final cut, my story was too l… Continue

HEAINTRIGHT.WEBS.COM Adds Another Free Funny Story

Friends, I believe in our motto, "Share a Story-Change the World" and I believe my role is to bring a smile whenever possible. If you could benefit from a short, free, funny, five minute story, please visit heaintright.webs.com A new one named, "Rainy Day at Roses" has just been posted, plus there are two others I think will make you smile. I don't do very many serious stories, not that there is a thing wrong with them, but they aren't me, especially in these admittedly hard times. Laughs and sm… Continue

UNCALLED FOR TOUR & CHARLOTTE BLAKE ALSTON

I am so glad I live in Virginia. I also hope you're happy where you live too, but lately the opportunities to hear good storytelling has been popping up in my backyard, so to speak. Today, President's Day, I had the pleasure of hearing Charlotte Blake Alston down in Newport News. She is outstanding. Don't miss hearing her if you can. (p.s. it was also free--SWEET!) Secondly, coming right here to Williamsburg, the official home of my humble heaintright.webs.com site... uh, and my home, are three… Continue

Hi, Anthony. Thanks for the welcome. I presently have nothing on my schedule for Sept. 10 so I will look to come to Weavers of the Word. I have the location, but didn't see the time - so what time is it? How long is it? What is the membership costs? Thanks for the info. Peace and belief,

Hi Anthony!
Thanks for the tip about the new center opening in Virginia, I will definitely check into it! Since we're sorta in the same area, for the moment, maybe I'll get a chance to run into you. Are you coming up to check out the storytelling at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival? I plan to go tomorrow and a few other days if I can make it.

Thanks for the welcome, Anthony. Yes, I do remember you and First Night Williamsburg. I'll be in New York the week of September 19th, telling at the Hans Christian Andersen statue in Central Park for starters.

Hi Anthony, Great to meet you! I'm sorry, but I won't be able to attend the Sounds of the Mountains. It pains me, but I had a previous engagement that I just couldn't skip out on. However, next year, I'll be there.

Are you going to be at the JuneBug festival? I'm trying to get in as a Teller for that one.

I do know Kim, she's actually a huge reason that I've decided to get into storytelling. I just can't say enough about how inspirational she is - funny too.

I hope to meet you at a festival in the future.

I'm a third generation hard rock miner, retired. The hat and carbide lantern are a few of the props I wear while storytelling.

Anthony, I really enjoyed talking "process" with you and Judith and Les on Tuesday. I finished a written first draft of the story I was telling you all about over the weekend and will try it out on my friend Noa over the phone today. I know it will change once I'm telling it. So interesting to see the difference, at least for me, between my "written voice" and my "telling voice".

Anthony, thanks for your kind words about my book and CD, It really means a lot coming from a boy who wore high heels.

I moved from the mountains to Portsmouth when I was 6 years old. I would love to compare notes with you sometime.
