For a weekend - yes....

As a still budding storyteller (and writer) I became aware that no matter how many storytelling classes I go to - in the end what matters is how I put the story forward on the night. We can all learn tips and tricks, and we are also human, and muc...

Gender wars. Crickies how long they'd endured. Here we are able to vacation among the planets we colonized some hundred years ago, after we pretty much used up planet earth, still unable to connect as two members of the same species. A fat lot of good all our technological advancements are. Our minds have moved faster than our consciousness. We still don't get it. There is something beyond our ability to use what is only another tool- our brains. We think and therefore we are remains the mistaken, yet prevailing gospel. Why, after all this time and history haven't we concluded the real truth of the matter: we ARE therefore we think. Damn! Done it again gone into ...

This orb was hypnotizing. It held me and would not let go. I was only vaguely aware of my captain's frantic command: "pull up! Get us out of this damn force field." Her voice sounded so distant. So out of place with the now changing visual.
The giant red onion was breaking up, dividing, like cells, into multi colored onions. Oranges, yellows and blues, greens, and gold now spun dizzyingly around the orb which now blinked silver. It wasn't possible.
And yet I heard, through the walls of this impenetrable craft ... music. A tune, vaguely familiar from a time best forgotten. " You can tell by the way I walk, I am a busy man no time to talk ... ah-ha ah-ha" And it all came into focus. The orb had pulled us in and now circled around us like, oh God no, a disco ball.

As soon as she open her mouth, before the words fell from those rose peddle lips, I knew.
The ship lurched to a momentary stop, did a one eighty turn and left our course at warp speed into god only knew where to; and even she might be unsure.
I had been reaching for my thermos at the same time I was trying to see through that black vinyl suit of hers. My hand missed the thermos and hit the space time continuum lever. I had forgotten to check its setting from the last trial test and reset the non reversal settings. For all I knew we could be heading toward life in 1869 or 3019. I could only hope we might find ourselves back where it all started. New York's Greenwich Village, 1969.

Please take from here. Peace, Den

Let me bounce this off you. Oh, sorry>.Good evening, how are you, hope all's well with you and yours.
Okay, now down to it.
I am developing a podcast. Want to run a daily bit, ten minutes in duration. One segment will be devoted to: 'OUR STORY or STORY ON GOING." Anyway, here's how it works. I - the narrator- begin a story. You, the reader must, if you choose to, respond at once with the next scene, part, line. You must follow the basic parameters of story telling, ie. a beginning middle and end. By the end of the week we have a holistic story from, I don't know, from around the world? So, if you don't mind, I'll begin with the introduction I use every day and the opening for you to expound upon and then take in any direction of your choice.
"Out here on the edge of reality, where 'could have been, would have been, should have been, collide with the world of is, stands, barely illuminated by half moonlight, glows the signal light from the radio station of the imagination. Not everyone can find the radio station of the imagination on theier dail. Eventually they will. Of those currently getting the signal and tuned are the folks at Oscar Flo's Chit-Chat cafe, at the corner of 'one of these days' and' back in the day''.
As I came through the door, that late winter day, I ran into Kathy Sue on her way out ....
And. One minute, live and then pass it on.
Have fun. Don't think, allow imagination, not mind, take it to the next place.
Imagination. Without it would you have your God?

Beautiful photo, Steph, on the "crazy" post. Elegant yet simple. Your thoughtful encouragement lifted weight off the bike and gave me a mental tailwind. Cheers.

Welcome ! I noticed you live in Winchester? Many years ago I traveled through the UK from way south (Winchester,Bath) to Orkeny Islands by BritRail and hitchhiking. I stopped at Winchester where I spent hours sketching and painting the side of Winchester, Cathedral, so dark yet some bright flowers, in startling contrast held me entranced.
