Bill & Kath - Kiwi Entertainers!

Profile Information

About Me:
Bill & Kath Worsfold – Biography

Bill and Kath Worsfold are New Zealand entertainers/singers/musicians/storytellers specialising in Family Entertainment, Barn Dances, and “Walkaround” or “Roving” Entertainment (including ambient music and puppetry). They both sing and harmonise, and both are multi-instrumentalists. Bill is a prolific writer of songs and stories. They lived in Australia for five years, performing in schools and for barn dances, and became full-time professional entertainers.

On returning to New Zealand, Bill and Kath continued with music/cultural/drama school shows and barn dances – touring schools every year, and performing at various music clubs and festivals around the country, specialising in New Zealand songs.

With the addition of their long-time interests in magic, puppets and ventriloquism, and more recently, storytelling, Bill & Kath tour with their “Bill & Kath’s Family Fun Show”, performing in community centres, fairs, shopping malls and libraries. They have been featured performers at the “Glistening Waters Storytelling Festival”, a national event, and at the “Auckland Storytelling Festival”. They have performed library show tours in Auckland, Rodney, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, and Manuwatu, for their summer reading programs.

Bill and Kath occasionally tour overseas, performing family shows, concerts and dances at fairs, libraries and festivals.

Bill and Kath’s specialties include Family Entertainment – shows featuring songs, stories, magic and puppets – and for adults, Barn Dances. Roving Entertainment with music and puppets, plus six different educational School Shows round out their present entertainment “menu”.

Bill and Kath are on a crusade is to encourage children and adults to play music themselves, and sing themselves, rather than relying on tapes and CDs and overhead projections of words.

Review - Sean Buvala's "Grumpy Burgers" Teleseminar (Kath Worsfold)

I went on Sean's Teleseminar on Monday, and I got lots of new ideas to try, plus heaps of good marketing tips. Some things I knew of (good to get re-inforcement of that knowledge, though), but most were new ideas that will really help me improve our business and get more bookings. Sean teaches a lot of his ideas in point form (which he then elaborates on) - this is great because it makes it easy to take in and remember. I have already started to use some of the ideas, and will add more as I go a… Continue

Bill and Kath Worsfold

Hello World!(Bill and Kath Worsfold)

Hi Storytellers! I have just uploaded a song from one of our CDs. It's one of Bill's songs "I Only Spoke Portuguese", and it tells the story of Bill's great-grandfather. He had quite an adventurous life! I also updated our profile.

Cheers,
Kath

Bill and Kathy,
As you can see, I have not been on this Ning in awhile! I do hope that all is well in the New Zealand storytelling world, and with the two of you!
Harold and I are preparing for our every Friday and Saturday evening in October with the other two members of our troupe, Lisa Holmes and Eric Wolf for Spooky Stories in the barn ("When Night Owls Screech and Spiders Creep") before a Haunted Wagon Ride, at Youngs' Jersey Dairy. Jonatha

Hi. You are into many interesting things. Do you perform together always? Do you both tell together, called Tandem in the US, Duet storytelling in some other places? My husband and I tell in tandem and solo. I will check out your website. Ours is: www.jonathaandharold.com

Shall we be P. Storyteller friends? Jonatha

Kath,

You have no idea how much your words of encouragement and support have meant to me! Thank you so much for sharing and encouraging me through the challenging period of resting and healing after surgery. I appreciate you more than you know. :)

Hugs, Dianne

Back issue of LE RACONTEUR are available on the Storytellers of Canada - Conteurs du Canada website at sc-cc.com , so my first issue won't appear for a few months. At the same time, it is a really good newsletter, and has been for a long time...past editors have been amazing! Take a peek!

The most recent issue is available (for members of SC-CC only) on the 'Members' section of the website. I hope you realize that you can become SC-CC members....even if you live in NZ. Our conferences seem to be getting better and better all the time....

Hi Bill and Kath,

You're right we share alot in common. I'll be performing at a festival in New Jersey this Sunday and one of my stories is about the digeridoo.

Be well

Hi Bill & Kath,

Great to have you onboard.... WikiEducator has very strong roots in Neew Zealand ....

Glad to hear that you're on Linux and Open Source....it's an evolution, but once you get there, it's a revolution....

We're working on a new 'node' on WikiEducator, kickstarted by a fellow from the Warrington School in NZ - it's a rural school outside of Dunedin, I believe....almost totally open source.... I'm sure there could be a storytelling component...

Check it out!
