In addition to doing storytelling, I am also a mime. I've been working on some pieces blending the two. Are there any other tellers out there who use mime, or mime techniques? How does it enrich your telling? What challenges do you face?See More
"I hold a Master's in Educational Theatre from NYU. My focus there was in applied and community-engaged theatre, which included a lot of discussion on the role and value of storytelling -- both as a theatre genre and as an art form into itself.…"

Professional Storyteller is a network for people who work in the field of oral storytelling. Please write a brief paragraph about your work.
My work focuses on creating original performances out of the stories of community participants. I'm fascinated by the the intersection of participatory theatre, community development, and oral history.
I draw from my background in linguistics and semiotics to guide my work in the field. Moving forward, I'm experimenting with documentary work, creative place-making, and using games and creative play to engage communities in the process of devising performances.

It's always good to see people connecting both here and on the email list, Storytell. There you mentioned "I've been having trouble getting more connected with storytellers in my area and beyond. Thanks to my contract finishing up, I can get more involved in local guild events, etc." I always recommend using the search box in the upper right corner of each page. We have two members who are also from Tempe, but you are more familiar with any AZ areas, so I'd suggest also searching a second time by AZ. It's a good way to find topics of interest here, too.
You also mentioned, "I'm putting more of myself out there on social media." Your page here is free webspace where you can blog, put photos, and videos promoting your work.
