I have been a professional teller for 20 years and perform primarily as half of the musical storytelling duo, Tales 'n Tunes. The other half is my husband, Don Darmer. We write original songs and also integrate songs into our stories which come mostly from the folk and fairy tale tradition. We have two award winning CDS, "Travelin' Down the Road: Sing Along Stories from around the World" and "Bunches of Beasts."
In addition to Tales 'n Tunes and my solo work, I'm also part of a storytelling quartet made up of four women: Four Stories High. I find collaboration to be great fun.
I remember well that party round at Marni's - quite overwhelming the number of storytellers she gathered. I felt very honoured! I know I met you but can't remember your face - are you putting a profile picture up here?
Welcome Carol!
Knowing you through STORYTELL, I'm sure you have a lot to add here. Just as STORYTELL can be a bit overwhelming, relax & let yourself find the level of participation that works for you here.
It's just great to see you join this 2d resource for storytellers.
I know - it takes a while to sorta get a grip on the site's workings - and, it does take a bit of time, so, if you have none because you're so busy working, we'll understand if we don't hear from you a lot in the very beginning - but, we'll be glad when you are able to 'get in the mix' and share with us -
whoops I thought you were my friend Carol Connelly... ha ha But my Carol is married to Harold, he is an engineer and she is a wonderful storyteller and actress.
Sorry for the confusion. I had recently invited them to join as well.
I am so glad that you made it in here. Check out the Marketing group, I think you will learn to like all of these people. I was gone all weekend... how are your rehearsals going on your movie?
Check out Dianne's Groups... There is a lot of great stuff here. Check out the Fishbowl.
Hello Carol! Welcome to this new group. It's becoming quite a large family. Maybe that's why I feel so at home here. It's nice to see so many Storytell-ers on this site.
I've 'seen' you guys all over the internet, seen your pics, read your stuff, etc - lots of times via storytell/list.
This is an awesome site you will both enjoy. You've much to offer the site and its 'residents,' and, I'm confident you will find that the site has much to offer you.
Take some time to review/study the pages - Main Page, your My Page, Teller Pages, Video, Photos, audiofiles, Forums, Groups, etc.
Questions? Ask any one of us, or go straight to the FAQ Group, who may already have the answer you need.
I am delighted to have you guys on board with us, and look forward to your sharing your insights and counsel with us regarding all things "story" - I wish you continued fulfillment and success and, again, send a warm Welcome to the two of you!
