Hello Cathy Kipepeo!
Thanks a lot for your note! 'Kipepeo' is a Kiswahili word that means Butterfly! So I can imagine how much Kamau must have noticed what a lovely person you are! Please never be shy to learn Kiswahili just plunge into it! The more mistakes you make either in pronunciation or grammar or both the faster you will learn!
Here in Eastern Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi) we tell stories a lot as one whole integrated presentation with live playing of traditional musical instruments, song, dance/movement, chants, banter, narration all woven together. We call "Sigana Storytelling Artform". One day, one time make your way to this part of Africa and enjoy our hospitality! Meanwhile, in case you may still be in contact with Kamau please introduce us to him so that we may network. Check us out on www.zamaleoact.org. With lots of love! Aghan Odero Agan - Nairobi, Kenya.
