About Me:
Daniel Bishop the Storyteller loves stories of all kinds. Whether he’s spooking campers around a fire, spinning a yarn of the high seas, telling a tale of magic or mayhem, or expounding on a story of self discovery, he’s always expressing his passion for the oldest of all entertainments – the story.
Daniel shares this passion around the region at festivals, schools, resorts, libraries, private residences, and more. Choose a pre-prepared show, or work with Daniel to build your own. With a menu of campfire, ghost, children’s, and personal stories as well as folklore and legends, fairy tales with flair, and histories he’s sure to have stories for every age and every occasion. Each show can be tailored for your event, and Daniel is eager to learn a new story at your request. He is always on the hunt for a new story to tell and a new way to tell it. When he tells, a little of that excitement is bound to rub off on the most jaded listener (even teenagers). Using only voice and gesture, Daniel draws upon his training in theatre at Utah State University to captivate the imagination. He aims to magically transport audiences back to a simpler day when special effects weren’t needed to make them feel a part of a story. If you long for those by-gone days of swapping tales around the campfire, let Daniel bring that campfire feeling to an event near you.

I'm looking for Stories about people in masks. There are lots of stories about heros in masks (Batman and the like) but I haven't found a lot of stories about cowards who hide behind masks. Do any of you have stories on this? Any and all help will...

There's no magic number but in order for someone to take you on for national distribution they need to know that there is a demand for the work, that you are touring to support the distribution and will continue to record....

HI Daniel,
Debbie here, Bill's wife - BIll is on the road and not doing internet for a bit so I'm pinch hitting.....we have a distribution agreement with Allegro - a company in Portland OR. But, most of our sales are still after concerts. It's best to find local 'mom and pop' stores to begin selling your work before moving to a larger distributor (they won't talk to you until you have some kind of track record...) Good luck with the CD!!!

You bet! If you plan on coming down, come a little earlier and tell some other stories. I'll hunt around for a few bucks to throw at you. It won't be much, I'm afraid, but I'll find something.

Daniel, thanks for purchasing the book. I greatly appreciate it. I hope it helps you to the next level in your career as a storyteller. Let me know what you think if it in its entirety.

Warmly,
Dianne

All of my recordings are on our own label - Round River Records. My wife Debbie runs the label and I know she's got her hands full - good luck with the recording - don't put it out until you are really happy with it even if it takes longer than you want it to...Bill

Thanks Daniel,

Had a great time at Timp - glad you were there. Thanks too for your kind words - I'm quite overwhelmed - in a good way - and feeling pretty happy. It's clear to me that there are many more "little guys" like us than the "big guys" out there.... Best to you,
Bill

Your comments were kind. Thanks. I will research the site you recommended and share more about my work. That's the good part. Tha bad part - is that I will probably see more things other tellers have put out and go on a purchasing spree once again. Best regards to you.

Hi Daniel, I just returned from the Tetons and a conference and haven't yet viewed the DVD, but I will soon! I like your website, though. I like how you have categories; perhaps you should add a "mix & match" category of some kind, or a "default" show that you would bring if I didn't request a specific show.

You might want to think about getting some tight, professional photos done. Drop by some time and I'm happy to oblige (for free of course). Just let me know when you're coming so I can know to bring my camera. Or find a friend who is a good photographer where you are living now. A sampling of photos would be good: some of you just smiling and looking like our best friend, and a few telling stories, some close ups. I also liked those of your audiences having good times.

Who hosts your website?

Good luck!

David

Daniel, it's done. I created the group - Storytellers' CDs and Books. Check it out. Now hopefully, people will list their resources!

Warmly,
Dianne

Daniel, what a great idea. I can set it up as a group and tellers can upload their books and CDs to the group. But it would be up to the individual tellers to list their books and CDs there. I'll do it. Great idea. :) Dianne
