I don't blame the owner for getting upset. Lots of urban legends have in many ways hurt innocent people. I have a friend who is a tremendous artist who enjoys painting old houses. He always gets permission from the owner first. I know first hand wha…
My father plays a strong roll in the stories I tell about my youth and being raised as a miner in the mine camps of Utah over 50 years ago. He most definately was an "Iron Man" who I still hold as the leading hero in my life.
I've dabbled in podcasting, learned a bit from Apple classes, but that's about it. However, I'm meeting with someone tomorrow to explore possibilities. As for your stories, I've got just the spot. TheStoryChest.com is under redevelopment and should go "live" this month. That's a perfect place for high quality audio tales. We'll be promoting the dickens out of it this summer. Shortly I'll make an announcement here on Professional Storyteller and invite you and our other pro-storytelling friends to add their tales. I'll keep you posted, David! :-)
I'm glad you weren't referring to "hot air" pressure. :-)
Noticed you earlier on the site and enjoyed reading your bio, David. Looking forward to a long, rewarding association with you. By the way, you can check out the bicycle/storytelling itinerary at adventureteller.com. Just click "around the bend" and click "schedule." See you around the bend!

He claims to have captured the illusive Tommyknocker, been haunted by ghosts, even rescued the dead. He’s searched for and discovered treasures, buried deep in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. He CLAIMS to be: a miner, trapper, famous bear hunter; even a famous rodeo cowboy! He admits that as a young man he foolishly shot and killed the most prized bull in all of the state of Utah! Well, one thing’s for sure; he can sure shoot the bull!
Just who is this famous adventurer who seems to have done it all? Why he’s none other than the Heir of Legends, Storyteller and Western Poet, David Bullock.
Raised in the mine camps of Utah, Bullock is a third generation Miner. “I was raised on dreams”, says David. “My fathers and grandfathers quest to find gold and silver along with other buried treasures has made it only natural that I would have a vivid imagination and propensity towards telling stories. Camped high in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, after a hard days work in the mines, we’d entertain each other by sitting around the fire swapping lies and telling stories. I’ve heard stories that you would not believe; I've heard the best of them!”
David’s gift of telling “the best of them”, gives his audience; ranging from mere babes in arms, all the way to the oldsters, the pleasure of dreaming and seeing with their own imaginations the vivid pictures that are painted with David’s descriptive words.
The author of his own stories and Poetic Ballads, David has a repertoire that ranges from absurd and totally incredible tales that will tickle your funny bone, to heartbreaking stories of dying heroes, and lost loves. He tells historical stories, western folklore, ghost stories, and tales of whimsy. The “Legend Heir” as he is known, has a unique ability to blend experiences from his own life and those from American Western culture, giving performances of stories that thrill audiences of all ages.
A seasoned entertainer, the Legend Heir has performed at nationally recognized Storytelling festivals such as the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival, He has entertained thousands at the Utah Arts Festival, Weber, Westminster, and University of Wyoming Storytelling Festivals. He performs for civic groups, corporate conventions, educational organizations, libraries, youth conferences and other groups. He has released two audio recordings; “Legends of the Legendheir”, and “Hardrock and the Tommy knockers”. His latest book, “The Two Kings” is a masterfully written Christmas story that warms the hearts of those who read it.
Mr. Bullock has served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Utah Storytelling Guild; Past president of the Summit Chapter of the Utah Storytelling Guild and Vise President of the Babcock Performing Readers, a reader’s theater located in Salt Lake City, Utah. David lives with his wife Cathy in Park City, Utah.
