Keynote Speech

I Just gave the keynote address for the Playgrounds of Learning Child-Care Conference in Spruce Pine, NC. I recorded this with my iPod. Good quality, but a bit skippy for some reason. Check my Music list to listen!

Gilgamesh Lives

The 14th Street Playhouse was a good home for Gilgamesh. This was the inaugural performance for the newly formed Houselights Storytelling Theatre. You can read more about them in this month's Storytelling Magazine. Here are a few shots from the show:

David, I have learned from you first at Walt Disney World and again at the FSA camp. Thank you for all the new tellers you have helped. You are truly an inspiration.

David - Thanks for posting the keynote. We went through the National Speakers Assn program and became members this year thinking that keynote speeches are a route that we can follow. Do you do keynotes frequently? Do you present yourself as a storyteller or a speaker? It seems that there's quite a difference in rates that a person can command depending on whether the speaker is an 'entertainer' or speaking on a specific topic, more like a lesson learned. It would be great to get your take on this.

I am looking forward to seeing you in Florida next year for StoryCamp. As I was studying the list of tellers for the past 25 years I found that this will be your third time to camp. Aren't you the lucky one, because it just keeps getting better.

always a tale to tell,

Dear David:

A belated welcome to you for joining the "College Big Cats: Tracking and Capturing Gigs" group.

I didn't even think to check if you had a Facebook account so I was honored to be invited to your site. That is already a smart step in connecting with the 18-35-year-olds as over 75% of college students have a Facebook account.

Feel free to start discussions or make comments within the "College Big Cats" group.

You may have noticed the e-Course there on basic marketing for college venues.

Until we tell again,
