About Me:: Deirdre Foster is a stage performer who has been telling stories since 2000.
Deirdre has been one of the few professional storytellers in Geneva, and has performed at a variety of events, conferences, luncheons, and librairy.
Her experience of theatre makes her stories at ease on stage, but she prefers a more intimate ambiance to tell stories.

Deirdre tells stories like tales from the collections of the Brothers Grimm, lies, ghost stories, legends and traditional tales from Switzerland, Scotland, France and beyond.

She is the founder of the "Vendredis des histoires ambulantes", president of Swisstales; "Plateforme suisse du conte", and was a Swiss representative at the inaugural meeting of the Federation for European Storytelling (FEST) in Norway, 2008.

Deirdre has written and performed in a number of other storytelling shows, including "Le chevalier à l'armure rouillée"Tsé-Tsé cie, "Blackbox GVA"-N3krozoft ldt, "Talking objects"-D.Bernardi.

She has collaborated with musician Robin Jossen on two storytelling shows "Mon songe" and "L'âne qui n'était jamais où il fallait".

She also has taught storytelling to high potential children for a few years, the children presented great colorfull shows at the end of a year's work.

I thought I just wrote to you and told you that I have finally managed to send a photo to Professional Storyteller, a real miracle after two days hard work, but my message seems to have gone into space.
May I ask you about the abbreviation FEST. Does it mean "Federation for European Storytelling"? I have also seen "Federation of European Storytellers". These two seem both possible. I have even seen "of" in the first case and "for" in the second, two alternatives that seem bad to me. Has there been any discussion about the name? "European" should have a capital "E", and it feels good to write "Storytelling" with a capital "S" too. It would be good to decide once and for all.

Happy New Year! J'ai eu un automne very busy entre le travail et une mère très faible au Danemark que je retournerai voir dans deux jours. Pas facile d'être partout. J'ai vu mon groupe hier pour le première fois et j'ai raconté notre rencontre en Norvège. Je pensais m'être mise dans le groupe de Fest sur la page web mais je ne vois pas mon nom et ma photo. Je ne vois pas non plus comment faire pour se mettre dans le "club".je n'ai rien entendu du groupe 'language" mais j'ai repris contact avec Heidi pour avoir leur coordonnées, et si Fest se réalisera à Lausanne il n'est pas impossible que quelques membres du groupe des Hauts Parleurs pourraient intervenir avec un petit spectacle type happening autour des langues.Pour l'instant je suis très curieuse de savoir si vous avancez et si la réalisation de cette manifestation semble se pointer dans l'horizon. Cela doit exiger beaucoup de temps et de courage! Alors merci de me donner quelques nouvelles et si possible de me redonner ton mail perso. J'ai perdu toutes mes adresses dans Outlook.
