Storytelling and Comedy

Have you wondered why we cannot mix comedy with storytelling?Try it!I am also an amateur stand-up comedian and have decided to make my stories sound funny. This works best when you are creating a story or involving audience participation. This also works when you are re-telling a boring or not so exciting story by putting in funny words, expressions and personal opinion in a funny manner. This works best more with adult audience or those above 10-12, because they are able to grasp the funnies.…See More

Where and who are the storytellers?

Where and who are the storytellers?  - Dhara KothariEverybody and everything tells or shares a story.Every brick, every stone, every rock, every flower or nature itself tells a story. Every ruin has a story to tell of its past. Every place has a memory to share. Every object speaks of a tale of its existence. The sands speaks of its once upon a time being part or the mountain itself. The natural formations talk about the travels of the wind. The rivers talk of its journey from snow to the sea.…See More

Welcome, Dhara!

Sounds like you are doing important storytelling work.  India is so diverse, I don't know which of our many Indian members may be near you or doing similar work.  We're a large international community here with groups that may interest you, also forum questions beyond the groups.  Of course you also may post a blog, photos, video, and events.  The search box in the upper right corner is a great place to start and if you try putting in "India", be prepared for lots to search, but possibly that or 1st Mumbai and then Bombay, may be worth trying.   So far neither Prakrit nor Katha Kosa have anybody else mentioning them, but new members join all the time, so you might regularly check when some join...and welcome them!

This site is all about networking and sharing storytelling ideas.
