2009 Update: Smoky Mountain Storytelling Festival and NYSS were great.
Emilee Seaman is now National Torchbearer High School division of NYSS.
She did a wonderful job with her own story Hidden Keys and her best performance ever on June 6th.
Andy Offutt Irwin, Lloyd Arneach, Doug Elliott and Donald Davis were just a
few of the awesome performers that wonderful first weekend in June when
I turned 56.
Followed that with a week of work at Green River Correctional Complex, medium security male prison, where I am the librarian.
Then went to Washington DC for the 100th Special Libraries Association conference.
Another inspiring and marvelous event. Colin Powell as the keynote speaker; Library of Congress as the capstone! What a June!

Halloween at Stanley's Pumpkin Hollow

Enjoying the fall outdoors at Stanley's Pumpkin Hollow.
Halloween stories every Saturday night in October at 6:00 pm.
It is a great family place with hayrides, weiner roasts, decorations for family portraits, places for birthday parties and more.

Stories of America's heroes

I am excited to be telling several times this summer stories of American Patriots. There seems to be a lot of need for stories that celebrate America; that teach and encourage public service, good deeds and perserverance. Our country has a wonderful history of people who though not perfect, helped build a nation that is strong and true and is still regardless of the current press evaluation - the leader of the free world and the hope of all the others.

Hi Donna,

I saw you have a set called Dogs I Have Known and Loved. I have one called Seven Habits of Highly Effective Dobermans. It teaches: friendship, loyalty, perseverance and assertiveness.

Would you like to join my Animal Stories group?

Dear Donna, sounds like I'm on the right track then. I've just been plowing along, marketing for gigs. I've got two consistent employers, but there's a third (a school PTO) which is becoming quite annoying. It's taken from March until now, to get any sort of firm details from them and that's only from my own prompting. Oy.
The good news is that I've rejoined the BoroTellers, Murfreesboro's Storytelling Guild. I told with them for Uncle Dave Macon Days in July and then got to attend a meeting this past Friday. If everything works out, I'll be telling local ghost stories the week before Halloween with them too.
Speaking of upcoming events, our SLA chapter is thinking about collaborating with the TN Library Association for a presentation in Memphis. If we were looking for a special guest speaker to talk about Marketing in special libraries, would you be interested and available during St. Patrick's Day 2010?

Hello Donna

And welcome to PS. This has now become and international storyteller community. There are wonderful groups, forums, discussion, tellers have audio and video on their pages and you can too. Check the groups, Marketing, Power of Story, Biblical Storytelling, and so many others. This is a place where you can talk learn and teach and it is a place of real inclusion. Something I know you hope to strive for with the KSA during your year as President.

Anyway, welcome
Buck

Dianne de Las Casas is the creator of this group. Jump in make friends and have fun. Welcome!
