Profile Information

Professional Storyteller is a network for people who work in the field of oral storytelling. Please write a brief paragraph about your work.
I tell stories about my life and I engage people in telling stories about their lives. I lead spiritual retreats and lead participants in creating stories. I created a program, "Prison Stories," in the county jail for women who are serving time. It is a creative writing and performance program. I am a company member with Voices of the South Theatre Company and I perform a one-woman show, "For Goodness Sake." That performance is the story of my life. I am adjunct faculty at Memphis Theological Seminary where I teach a course, "The Preacher as Storyteller." Pilgrim Press (Cleveland,OH) published a collection of my stories, Help Me Remember, in 2005.I tell stories in churches, schools, libraries, theaters and at conferences. I believe that face to face story sharing is the way to reduce our fears and build healthy communities.

If you go to the Brady Campaign’s web-site you will find a list of mass shootings that have occurred in…
