About Me:
Elaine Stanley
“Weaver of Stories for Head, Heart and Soul”

Elaine grew up a twin in a happy and active family. Her Father was in the Air Force, so the family moved about every 2 to 3 years. Growing up throughout the United States as well as London England and Tokyo Japan. For over 20 years she taught self defense in the martial art of Kodenkan Jujitsu. Learned American Sign Language, and was an interpreter in the California Community Colleges for several years. Also has been a hospital X-Ray technologist for 42 years, These varied life experiences have added a richness to the stories and poems Elaine tells, that touch a universal cord.

Elaine has been a professional storyteller since 1994. A storyteller for all ages, and a graduate from the Dominican College Storytelling program, she delights in having fun with stories and people. Enhansing her stories with facial expressions, body movement, American sign language, and enthusiasm.

50th Birthdays, white water rafting trips, garden partys, schools, libraries, parks, botanical gardens, beaches, senior residences, and Tellabrations have been some of Elaine’s favorite venues. A highlight of her storytelling experiences, was being a delegate with the People to People Ambassador Program and the National Storytelling Association’s delegation to Gengcun China in 1997, and again with NSN in 2002, 2006 and again in 2007 as a part of a documentry team.

Elaine loves to travel and share her stories and poems. Having fun with stories, she hopes others will be encouraged or infected by a contagious desire to want to retell stories they’ve heard or read, or tell their own stories.

I was so glad to see you on the site as well ^^

I know that the experience that we shared in China is one which will last a lifetime. I'm really think I can go on the China trip...i'm geing ready to raise money this fall. Although it will be during my senior year, I can' miss such a great opportunity.

What was it like for you returning to China?

Unfortunately, I had to move away from my Chinese tutor...but I'm still hoping to start up again during the school year. I was hoping to see you at the conference, but maybe next year!

great- let me know when you're heading up here (and if you need a place to stay). We've got a small place, but it's cozy you can see the new playhouse/rehearsal room.

best-

Hey, Woman! Good to catch you. I haven't taken a look here for a couple of weeks. Been oh, so busy with life. I'm sorry I won't be at BASF this weekend. My 90 year-old mommy is visiting with me & I must bust her to the Sacto airport on Sunday. Cynthia & I are doing fine. We're plugging away with our tandem work, and each of us is doing a lot of varied individual stuff, too. I loved reading your bio post. I'm an Air Force Brat, too. Let's get reconnected here until we can give one another a real hug. Hope life is sweet for you, as it is for me. xoxoxo bz
