Professional Storyteller is a network for people who work in the field of oral storytelling. Please write a brief paragraph about your work.
With her trademark wit, warmth and humor, Geraldine Buckley has been involved in storytelling, performance poetry and conducting creative workshops for over twenty years in the US, Canada, England, Holland, South Africa and Spain.
Through folk stories and tales from her own life Geraldine takes the audience on a magic carpet ride of adventure, laughter and insight that leaves listeners both entertained and moved. And Geraldine has stories! In her eclectic past she has been, among other things, a minister in a large London Church, a radio DJ, a television newsreader, an events director, a ghostwriter, a food critic, a magazine editor and an award winning performance poet. Her most recent adventure was being the Chaplain in the largest men’s prison in Maryland – a medium security facility.
Geraldine has an MA in communication from Regent University and lives in Frederick, MD – 45 minutes from Washington DC.
Congratulations on your fabulous news, Geraldine. It's take a lifetime of experiences, but your great sense of humor will stand with you at the National Storytelling Festival as you are recognized as 1 of the New Voices.
I've enjoyed both your storytelling and workshop at the FL StoryFest.
No problem, Geraldine! As you say, it's a nice problem to have & 1 we all try to have keeping us busy enough. I tend to hit this site on the run myself! Since most of my work is here in Michigan it's not so hard to check in, but when out of the country I find it's too hard to do more than catch priority emails & let the rest sit or delete.
This network's well-archived for prowling to see what may interest you & large enough things just keep going.
