Storytelling has the power to transform lives and societies, heal relationships, and provide identity and community. Let this be a venue for exploring the power of story.
For me, stories illuminate the diversity and depth of human experience, and in my almost 20 years of telling stories, I continue to find that storytelling is a journey of discovery for me as a teller along with the listeners.
My journey with stories has led me to delve into folktales, epic, myth, and family and historical stories from my Mennonite background. My repertoire ranges from rhymes and stories told for parents with very young children to stories told in commemoration of the Years of Terror in Stalinist Russia. I have been fortunate to travel across Canada, to the United States, Ukraine and Australia to perform.
I tell individually and in tandem with Carol Leigh Wehking through Tongues Wagging Productions.
I am a member and past National Coordinator of Storytellers of Canada - Conteurs du Canada, a member and past teacher, workshop facilitator and Executive Director of the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program®, and a member of The Uppity Women, Storytelling Toronto, and the Baden Storytellers' Guild.
Welcome to Professional Storyteller. If you get a chance, I would love for you to participate in the group "Applied Storytelling: the Power of Story." Best wishes to you! STEVE
