It was a joy to meet you and see you perform at The Storytelling Festival of Carolina in Laurinburg, NC. I was very intrigued with your coal mine stories
and hope that you had an "uneventful" trip back to Georgia.
It is so good to see you here. There are so many great people and topics to explore. Hope things are going well in GA. Will you be at the NSN conference in August? I hope to see you again soon.
Greetings and welcome to this great site. Interestingly, I work for an international ethnographic center based out of Atlanta and have done some storytelling ethnographies. Won't you consider joining our group here on this site: Applied Storytelling: the Power of Story? We would love to have you and could learn a lot from your participation! Best wishes to you. STEVE
I am glad you are here. I have been looking for a place to perform my once told story "Soup." Any bites? I am working with Pam Holcomb on a miner's project too. You should meet Pam... she is from Putney Kentucky and I think the two of you would have a lot in common with your miner projects. She is a member of PS and you can search for her in the Members folder.... Pam Holcomb... she is worth getting to know. Welcome to the PS site... I hope it is very productive for you
Kennesaw, GA - eh?
Anthony Quinn...Rod Serling..."Requiem for a Heavyweight" ring a bell?
I first mouthed the words (but I was thinking it was KY?) as a high school junior doing a dramatic scene for UIL competition - but, more on that later, perhaps.
KSU Tellers sounds like a most wonderful project, and I bet the students are loving it - the coal miners' stories are treasures for the keeping, and I/we thank you for your role in preserving and presenting them.
This is a great site for both you and your students, if you would be so good as to share it with them.
I hope you and/or your charges will share some material with us on this site - it's a great "exchange place" for such ventures.
Hope to hear more about your work, yourself and your students in the coming months. My best wishes to you in your journey -
