- Hello there - I am pulling from my resume. This is it! Heather is an active storyteller, singer-songwriter who performs both traditional and her own stories, bringing them to life through singing, props, and playing the guitar. She is a versatile performing artist for both children and adults. Her storytelling and songs have been described as ‘artistic’ ‘highly educational’ ‘interesting’ ‘refreshing’ ‘charming’ and ‘bluesy cool!’ She is instrumental in initiating and coordinating programs for the community and in facilitating workshops for youth and teachers. Two new albums, Let’s Sing for children and Origins of Halloween for adults and youth, are recent recordings.
Heather also teams with harp and mandolin musician Kim Michele to present Musical Story & Song Theatre which includes adaptations of classic tales, The Nightingale by Hans Christian Anderson and The Nutcracker by E.T.A. Hoffman; and they create performances based on life themes that include personal storytelling and original songs and poetry which is popular at literary festivals and on stage. Heather invites other artists to join her ‘Singin’ the Blues’ in Story and Spooks & Specters’ concerts for older audiences.
