I have a good friend, Jerry Stropnicky that is associated with the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble in Bloomsburg, PA. He speaks very highly of you. He has told me of your perfomances at the theatre. It sure makes me jealous that I've never had the listening pleasure of an entire concert.
Years ago, I took a storytelling workshop given by you and Doug Lipman in Tallahassee, AL. I went by my former married name at the time - Debbie Rauch. I was the storyteller with the braids. I was working on a family tale titled "The Red Skies Of Orestes." Both you and Doug were so helpful. In fact, that story will be included in my 2nd published book (publication pending later in 2008 or early 2009) titled "White Reindeer, Kudzu Monster, & Other Tales Of Wonder" under my pen name of DJ Lyons. I want to thank you so much for being such a great teacher and coach at that workshop.
Have a wonderful day!

Hello Jay, It was so wonderful to meet you at Tcha Tee Man Wi in Corvallis in February. My wife, Lynne, and I are great fans of your work (she's the one who gasped audibly when you said you were going to tell The Herring Shed). At our adult storytelling show last November I told a true, personal story about a solo canoe trip that I took when I was 16 years old, and in particular about a night that I spent, alone on an island in the middle of a huge lake, huddled under my canoe in a fearsome lightning storm. After the show someone came up to me and said that my story reminded her of your stories!! It was one of the nicest compliments I have ever received.
I am glad you are here. Please upload some audio or video and make yourself at home with the groups... I would especially like to invite you to the Marketing Group. We are focusing on "best practices" for the business side of storytelling.
