I live in the middle of a one hundred acre pine tree farm and love it. The surprise is that I moved from metro-Atlanta and missed it terribly the first year.
Now, I look forward to morning walks, checking for ripe tomatoes and bright yellow squash. The deer, rabbits and crows are daily companions. The green of the grass contrasts sharply with the abundant colors from wild flowers.
This is a perfect setting for centering myself so that I am at peace when performing. It's my retreat and from here I venture forth to share my love of stories and storytelling.
I enjoy all aspects of storytelling, the performance, researching for new programs, learning the craft. My audiences have ranged from 6 months (daycare center) to over 90 ( senior daycare, nursing home). Each brings its own magic. With children, it's wide eyed wonder, elders, the look of recognition and those in between, it's, 'I'm surprised, I really like this.'
Storytelling has something for everyone. I am privledged to share in this honorable profession.
Thanks for the hearty welcome. I'm excited to gather with tellers and share our love for words.
