Kali creates interactive, compelling programs for anyone seeking meaningful arts experiences. Her dynamic work includes residencies, workshops, and dramatic performances for special occasions of all kinds. Kali prides herself in fitting in with your purpose and goals. She happily serves all ages and backgrounds.
Kali Ferguson, Cultural Educator is a storyteller, poet, teaching artist, and child of the world (among other things). She began her creative journey at age four, and she has since written and performed at local and national venues, always using her creative intuition and warmth to guide her. Kali aims to bring purpose and meaning to individuals and communities through the creative arts.
Kali engages audiences of all ages and backgrounds as she tells folk and original stories; interprets original and well-loved poetry; and sometimes even blesses us with song and dance. Her work as a teaching artist has inspired many children and teachers to trust their own inner knowing and connect with their school curriculum on a deeper level. Kali also writes and sings songs that defy definition and works in organizations to bring out the "co-creator" in everyone. Kali sought her identity as an artist for many years, walking the roads of high school Spanish teacher, event planner, economic justice organizer, and grad school student. During that time, she unwittingly rounded out her ability to process and express life. Now she uses her background in Spanish Education to tell bilingual stories; her work as event planner and organizer to bring people together; and her graduate school research skills to inform her thorough teaching artist residencies. Kali recognizes that all her experiences are part of her unique story and hopes to help others celebrate their own personal tales and realize their dreams.
Hello Kali, lovely to find you again. I hope I can see you tell in person sometime in the not too distant future, either on my land or yours, or someplace inbetween! slán, Clare
Hi Kali, thanks for the beautiful words you gifted me. An be kelen (we are one); you inspire me as well. I'm leaving for Mali this December using November to finalize the travel arrangements (collecting school supplies for kids over there, medicine for those who need it, etc.) so I won't be in Ohio (quel domage!) but I do plan on being a lot more active when I return next year.
Thanks for reading some of my material, and your kind comment.
I'm excited to think that you will be sharing some of your thoughts, experiences, insights, etc., with us as you grow more accustomed to the ins and outs of this site.
"...to help others celebrate their own personal tales and realize their dreams."
Wow, Kali - that's an inspiring mission, and a greatly worthwhile goal...
thanks for sharing that with us.
This is an awesome site, as you know - I'm sure Buck urged you to 'jump right in' and have fun, and he's right - that's great advice.
Takes a little time, but well worth it to checkout the various pages (Main Page, My Page, Teller Pages, Video, Photo, audiofiles, Forums, Groups, etc.) and choose how you want to create your online presence at PS.ning.
What a mind-boggling background you have, and what a world of experience you have to offer your listeners!
I'm delighted you're here, look forward to your sharing with us, wish you the best and, again, send a warm Welcome!
I am writing you a pretty good email, with a lot of information in it. I think I have a great solution for you as far as recording an mpg file is concerned.
I am walking out the door to go to work. So I will answer your questions abotu recording a mp3 and it looks to me like you have figured out how to upload pictures... those are great pictures.
I want to apologize... you slipped right under my nose. I didn't mean to not welcome you to the site or the Group. Somehow I missed you. I love to hear stories told bilingually. I hope you can upload some audio so that I (being selfish here) can hear you tell. Please forgive my silly oversight... I don't know how it happened. I do know how I found it out... I was going through all the members of the Marketing Group, looking for someone who could answer some questions I am hoping to field...would you be willing to tackle a little job like that for the Group?
