I'm a comedian/motivational speaker and I use stories and storytelling as my style of delivery. I have a program called "Who hijacked my fairy tale: How to hang on to humor when life doesn't go as planned." And, by the way, life never goes as planned. You can see more about me on www.kellyswanson.net.
Kelly,
I am a big fan of the Comedic part of storytelling. I perform for both children and adults. I'm a puppeteer but have also started doing some story telling without the puppets and find that I really like the thrill of having people respond with laughter.
Ps. I really liked your website too!

Hi Kelly, long time no talk! I hope you are doing well! I will be in Laurinburg this weekend, I'll wave when I drive by. Hope to see you soon and finally have that cup of coffee we talked about.
Hey there. Doesn't matter how - I got your messages! Thanks! I look forward to having you participate with us in the Applied Storytelling group. Just click "Groups" at the top of your page, then click the "Applied Storytelling: The Power of Story" icon. That will take you to the group page. Then, just beneath the top menu you will see "Join This Group." Just click it and you're in! Take care. STEVE
Wow - ya'll are nicer to me than my own family. And I'd bet you're even sober. This will definitely be the place where I go to fill back up. And I am most happy and humbled to help you whenever and however I can. Please do not look at me as the expert. Look at me as someone else with an outstretched hand on your journey - someone willing to share her mistakes so that you don't have to make them too. Still figuring out how this whole comment wall thing works. Steve Evans: I'm hoping this is how I answer your comment. Yes - I will join the applied Storytelling group. Tell me how to do it and I will. Again, I'm still figuring how all this works.
I've never had so many people ask to be my friend in my life. Where were you all in high school?
If you ask to be my friend and I don't respond - don't take it personally, either ask me again or assume that I'm out of town working, or that I couldn't figure out how to do it.
Greetings and welcome to this great site. I wonder, won't you consider joining the group Applied Storytelling and share with is your insights and experiences? I'm sure we could learn form them! Best wishes to you. STEVE
Tho't I was going crazy. I KNEW I'd been to your website enroute to sending you a 'welcome to PS.ning,' but there was no trace of my having done so; BUT, I remembered those images, those phrases, that photo . . . ahhhhhhhhh-hhhhhhh, uhhhhhhhhhmmmm-hmmmmmmm!
YOU are the one DJM sent me to see, when he was offering his counsel about auditon DVDs a couple of days ago - THAT's why I tho't I was doing this again...
Sorry.
So, where were we? Right, welcome!
As I'm sure David Joe told you, this is an awesome site; it will do you lots of good, and YOU will do it (us) a lot of good - it's only fair.
I've listened to/witnessed you doing 'your thing,' and I know enough to know that you have a great deal of insight, info, discernment and wisdom to share with our online family, so I look forward to your sharing with us; I wish you the best as you continue your journey and, again, send my warm greetings and a big Welcome!
