I visited Espana when I was a kid with my family. I always wanted to go to Andalusia. I am told that my great-grandfather was Basque. I went to Seville, drank Sangria in moderation at a restaurant which had Flamenco dances and Gitano musica. I remember having a wonderful time. I'd like to visit madrid someday if finances allow.
I found Cordova and Malaga but not your village on a map. I found websites about our village but no map that detailed. I did find some promotional material about your village, such as:
Cuevas de San Marcos is a municipality north of Antequera in Málaga with a village by the same name that sits on a hillside not far from the Iznajar River dam. It is just south of the Genil River.
When I was in Spain in 1977 while traveling all over Europe that summer I was in Madrid, La Granga (spelling), Avilla, Toledo and then Barcelona. This trip only for the day in Huelva in the far western part of Andalucia.
I was just looking at some maps trying to find where you live. I am guessing that Andalucia is a region of southern Spain that includes the cities of Huelva and Seville, much like Algarve is a region in southern Portugal with Faro, Alvo and Portimao. Both on the Mediterranean Sea.
What town or city do you live in?
Yes the weather was very nice the week I spent in Algarve.
I was in Portugal and Spain last week. Sorry we missed each other.
I was in the Algarve Region most of the week and drove over to Huelva one day. I spoke for a group of Hotel managers one evening and was one of speakers at a Business Futures and Innovation Conference held at Algarve University in Faro.
I am an english storyteller now living in Southern Spain but work wherever storytelling needs me! An ex-teacher and actor I have worked with many audiences and groups in many settings. I LOVE stories and have met many wonderful people through them. Have a look at my web site.
