Interested in getting the word out about my documentary film Stories of the Fairy Folk. I also have a creative arts educational package to accompany the film and encourage children to tell their own tales. Any thoughts of good avenues to check out?…

Profile Information

About Me:
I am an independent film maker and educator.
I created the documentary film Stories of the Fairy Folk and educational package in hopes of inspiring children to tell their own tales.

Bio:
Lindsay Stewart Pinchbeck grew up on the West Coast of Scotland. She moved to Maine, USA, to attend a liberal arts college for her undergraduate studies. Her undergraduate thesis explored, through photography and music, traditional tales and fairy lore found in Scotland and Ireland. After completing the initial photography project she realized the importance of capturing on film the storytellers she met on her travels. While working at the Maine Film and Photographic Workshops (currently the Maine Media Workshops) the project developed into the documentary film Stories of the Fairy Folk.
Stories of the Fairy Folk was self-funded. Pinchbeck received free 16mm film from Kodak UK and had help from individuals and generous businesses. This is Pinchbeck’s first documentary film.
An artist and educator Pinchbeck completed her Masters in Education in 2006 focusing on how the Creative arts are used in the classroom. Her interest in education influenced the final out come of Stories of the Fairy Folk.
Pinchbeck now lives in Maine with her family. She continues to use the arts to teach, and focuses on the power of storytelling, encouraging children to tell their own tales and find stories in their own community.
