I blog and public speak on Blogging (CAR National Conference 2007)
I discovered this site March 24, 2008. I think I am what you are. I may be the "ugly duckling that was raised by nice dogs" I really thought I was a dog except didn't know that language. Usually strangers take me in, I always wanted to be adopted so that's what I've been doing though life. Being adopted till I find my home. Nearly all my stories are about fish out of water looking for freedom and finding home.

Southern Story telling at dinner

The southern tradition was to tell stories of the day at dinner. My parents were from Texas and in the summers I went to stay with family out there. I learned about values, attitudes right there with my family.
We had all the stories in the world. History stories of family members, growing up ones about how someone did this or that. I loved those stories. They were important ones that became myth in nature. How Dad (Knocky Parker) found ragtime music downtown in Palmer, Texas. Stories about a ph… Continue

Lynne, you continue to be an inspiration, as you were so many years to a wayward and lost 19 year old. I am lucky to be able to say that I got to meet your parents and hear some of Knocky's stories and music back then, too. And through you, and your children, they, and he, live on. Amazing the twists and turns of this life journey we are all on, isn't it?

Hello friend! Now all of our stories, of houses and old stoves, beaches and our boys, the journeying through each others lives, inspiration and journaling of inscriptions that we love to story-tell, carried all this way in our hearts and friendship, all these years...

Dear Lynne:

I am fascinated by your journey to find a home for your stories. The storytelling community tends to be quick to open the doors.

Could you tell me more about your public speaking on blogging? What exactly is the CAR National Conference?

I have kept up a blog for about a year and a half now though I do not blog in the normal way. I have article-based entries so to promote storytelling. I would be honored by your feedback. You can find it at http://storytellingadventures.blogspot.com.

Until we tell again,

It's not my drawing, it's the default when you don't post a picture of yourself.

I hope you like my story too.

Thank you for the welcome and the suggestions. I love this place. I have started to invite others to this remarkable place. The graphics are fantastic! This page alone feels like a great dream. I'm in Los Angeles- the beach area. I feel kind of shy...like planning to go to the first day of school. I have my crayons and ruler and backpack. I don't know if the next stop will be a conference to attend? I welcome suggestions. They have things in Pasadena and Long Beach that I could look into.
