About Me:
Mary Jo is a multi-award winning author, recoding artist, storyteller and Early Childhood Consultant. Creating language fun for children is a passion and exciting career. While traveling the country I have presented for more than 70,000 children and adults. I am a retired teacher/director with 35 years of fun filled experience with children. During the past few years I have Keynoted in 17 states on the power of storytelling and presented at IRA, NAEYC, SECA and the National Kindergarten Conf. in Las Vegas. Each day is a challenge and a joy which brings a big smile to this senior face when the eyes of a child light up while listening to a story. Creating an imaginative world for children is the best retirement ever!

Mary Jo,
As soon as Tammy mentioned your name, I told her about rooming with you at Bellingham. That was fun. I wish you could have been at the Honolulu conference. It was a real winner. I enjoyed having Tammy stay with me. We had a good time together.

It sure was good to see your smiling face in Jonesboro. I just wish we would have had more time to just sit and visit.

Take care of yourself,
Pam

Hey, friend - sorry to miss you at the National Conference as well... my fault totally!

Like an idiot - I hurt my arm... trying to start what proved to be a dead mower. I had already torn my rotator cuff and need surgery - but put off the surgery until after my Taiwan trip. (We are in Taiwan as I write this note.)

The ride to Gattlinburg would have been about 11 hours + I could not take meds while driving back and forth. I would have had to leave early to catch my flights here anyhow - so I made a tough decision and opted to stay home and rest up for the trip. Good thing, too!

We have been from one end of this country and back again several times already... eight 3-hour workshops, the release of my new book, The Basics of Storytelling, the release of my new DVD - 12 stories for young children (not named yet for the US Market), three 2-hour workshops, two 1 1/2 hour storytelling concerts, a benefit program for low income children, and meetings with US and Taiwan Dignitaries + Radio programs and more. What a trip - but without the rest ahead of time - I would never have made it.

Back at you later when I am home in the states. Take care. Mike Lockett

It's very nice to meet you! I agree with what you say about Sophie's Masterpiece. It is a touching beautiful story. Did you have to go through her agent too?
