Profile Information

About Me:
I am passionate about storytelling. I tell traditional stories from around the world. My favorite themes are facing difficulties, making mistakes, and encountering The Other in life. I tell at schools, libraries, mental health centers, and various festivals. I am a Californian by birth and by heart, but I have lived on the high plains of Western Kansas for 30 years. I spent a glorious year and a half in Tennessee gettting my master's in storytelling from ETSU. Did you know they have trees there?

Who do you know in OKC? I haven't been able to find a guild meeting or anything in the city- the nearest groups seem to be several hours away.

Margaret-
Josh and I are in the process of moving to OKC (actually he's in the living room singing silly songs to Jonah) but we will be around this summer. Let me know when you will be anywhere near us.

By the way, I just heard a rumor you were on the NSN BOD? How exciting for them!!

I looked for you at last years' festival in Jonesborough - if you were there, I'm sorry I missed you.
The postcard idea is where I'm headed right now. It makes more sense to me than a full brochure. Besides, I can send it out via email, too. This site may help me a lot - I love storytelling and writing, but I'm not a techno. . .

Margaret - my, my, we are all busy at our computers, aren't we? It's great to hear from you. By the way, I took my degree from ETSU in December, went through withdrawal and am still in Johnson City for the time being.

Hi Margaret,

It is good to hear from you. I'm in the midst of finals week. All is well, though. I'm working on my last course for UT before starting the dissertation. Yeah! Of course I still have to complete comprehensive exams before I start, but I expect that to occur. I'm glad to be considered a friend of yours.

Peace,

Delanna

Margaret, we tell tales on similar themes. It's important for stories to offer examples of problem solving, conflict resolution, empowerment of the underdog. We're Californians, still ekeing out a living here.
