Hi Mary!
No worries about how fast you can participate here. Do what you can, when you can. That's what I try to do here & on STORYTELL. Life beyond the computer is important, too.

Hope that new house does a great job of being a sanctuary for you.

Please do not be offended if I do not respond quickly to messages. The general busy-ness in my life is going to keep me from being very involved here right now. I accepted an invitation from David Joe because he's one of those trusted friends I'd pretty much walk through fire for if he told me to. However, I doubt that I'll do much right now because it's complicated and time-consuming, and there is only so much time available. I already have my fingers on this keyboard for too much of the day.
I'm afraid the time-constraint is working the other way as well. There are many voices we don't "hear" much on Storytell any longer, and I miss them. I seek them out on their Blogs, and that works for Granny Sue and Elloise, who update their Blogs frequently -- not so well for others. I may at some point when I have more time seek them out at here to see what they are up to, but it still won't be the same as having them "around the Storytell table" on a regular basis. This is each person's choice, of course, but I miss them.
I'm remembering a discussion last summer about Fringe performances cutting into Swap attendance at Conference -- of course they must, as people can't be in two places at once. It's not a deliberate decision to erode the existing activity, but it is a side-effect. Much as we might wish to, we can't do it all. (we can have fun trying . . .) Looking forward to more spirited exchanges with friendly partners in story wherever we may meet.

Hello Mary;
Welcome to a really neat place on the net.I hope you learn to love it as much as I have. Lots of cool groups, great discussions in the forums, some fun videos and take the time to look at everyone's page. Some have uploaded audio and you can too. Also in the video page you can put yours up for the world to see. Great fun in that section... really.

Join some groups, lot of information is being shared. Good stuff too

Hello, Mary, and Welcome!

I've 'known' (of) you for some time due to storytell/listserve, and think we exchanged emails a few times.

Retired teacher, also! You're gonna love this place - you know so many folks on this site, it's really gonna seem like home.

Take the time - and it takes some time - to investigate the Main Page, Teller Pages, your My Page, Forums, Groups, etc. - post your videos, audiofiles, pix, written material - it's a wonderful online presence for you, and all the rest of us.

Glad you're here with us, wish you the best, and, again, Welcome!

Greetings and welcome! With your teaching background in communications arts AND your love of wisdom tales, would you consider participating with those of us in the group Applied Storytelling: the Power of Story? We would love to have you and could learn a lot from your knowledge and experience. Best wishes. STEVE
