I tell historical stories and perform a variety of first person programs featuring women in different eras of US history. I tell folk tales, fables, humorous stories, personal stories, and inspirational and sacred stories. A seventh generation Appalachian, I tell traditional stories from the region. However, my most requested stories are ghost stories. I also sing traditional folksongs and ballads and shape note songs.

What a wonderful life you lead! I'm keen to visit the your area and learn more of its history. So much more interesting than Canadian history, all stuffy guys in canoes. And beavers. Lots of beavers :-D
What is studying for a Masters in storytelling like? Is the written work balanced with performance? Is it mainly oral telling?
Hello, I'm brand new to the storytelling adventure. Although, I've done theatre and some casual performing for friends and my spiritual community, I'm not sure where to start in my neighborhood. My fellow librarians are helping me explore this side of my love for stories, but practicalities, like costs and kids' curriculum, make me nervous. Do you have advice?
