Husband, father, minister, and storyteller. The incredible gift of storytelling is that it helps us connect with each other in ways we normally wouldn't, considering our diverse and often "too busy" culture.
My repertoire ranges from original stories to folk tales from around the world, Biblical parables and tales of healing. The occasional addition of harp-song lends a Celtic flair. My concerts are tailored to the needs of my varied audiences from ages two to 102.
I especially enjoy telling fun stories and transformational tales when mentoring teens and for marriage enrichment events.
Come and listen as the stories...Tell It Like It Is.
Buck said I HAD to 'meet' you - he is VERY high on you and what you're about - so, here I am, hopefully, meeting you. I'm Tom Taylor, pal of Buck and Pam H., 'retired teacher' in Central Texas, doing a wide range of things, not the least of which is telling stories - heading more and more for primarily biblical stories. When u have a moment, I'd love to find out more about you. I'm on this site, as well, so you can check me out on PS, or tomtaylorstoriesplus.com, Facebook: Tale-Teller Tom Taylor; also just plain ol' Tom Taylor - and - inotherwordsdottom.com; AND storyteller.net/tellers/ttaylor - that's a clear case of "TMI" I know...my apologies.
Looking fwd to getting TMI on you, as you have the time and inclination -
Thanks about Hercules. I thought the Granite State Storytelling Festival went very well, considering it was a first-time event, hosted by a delightful arts council in New London, New Hampshire, some of whom weren't quite clear on what storytelling was, exactly, but went along with the idea anyway and were, we think, pleasantly surprised. I gave three shows, one for little kids, and two for adults. Told a slew of stories, but most memorably, during the evening show, two of my scariest items, The Storm Breeder and The Panther Boys, then finished off with The Giant, accompanied, interestingly enough, on the harp.
I was preceded by Lauretta Phillips and Lorraine Hartin-Gellardi. They were both fabulous and when I called them up to the stage at the very end, we enjoyed a thunderous standing ovation, which always makes telling stories worth while.
Glad to hear you know about Williamson. I saw him live in London about 20 years ago.
Nice guy. Good luck with your work.
Hi, Michael. I noticed in your photo that you perform with a Celtic harp. I do, too, and am interested in how you use it. Ever heard of or seen Robin Williamson, the great Welsh harping bard? Truly wondrous. Anyway, do you play as you speak, or use interludes of music, or both? Welcome to the bumptious guild.
