Rab, Wolves are typically the top of the food chain, the "apex predator," so yes, they'll eat bison, deer, elk, even moose-- whatever is around. They will also eat smaller prey such as rabbits if the opportunity presents itself. In Western Canada an…

About Me:
Rab Swannock Fulton is originally from Scotland, but settled in Ireland in 1999. He specialises in researching and performing folktales, myths and urban legends from Ireland and Scotland, including tales handed down through his family. He works in both English and Scots. His stories range from the light and beautiful to the very dark and disturbing

Rab performs and teaches storytelling and creative writing in schools, libraries, museums and festivals in Ireland and the UK. As well as solo work, he enjoys collaborating with other artists. For his collaborative work with Clare Muireann Murphy see www.storytellersunlimited.com. For more on his present project with Fionnuala Gallagher see http://www.tht.ie/?id=view&event=784

He is a member of Poetry Ireland’s ‘Writers In Schools Scheme’ and the UK National Literary Trust’s ‘Reading Is Fundamental’. Rab uses storytelling to build bridges between people and challenge the exclusion of marginalized groups.

As well as a storyteller Rab is an accomplished writer, essayist and poet. He has worked as a columnist, book reviewer, magazine editor and independent publisher. A previous runner up to the Robert Louis Stevenson Award in Scotland, in 2005 he won the Athenry Prize for his non-fiction essay 'Rome’s Gift of Freedom to the East – Propaganda Versus Reality'.

His work has featured widely in Ireland (Books Ireland, Cyphers, Poetry Ireland Review. The Shop, West 47) and the UK (Chapman, Cutting Teeth,The Guardian, The Herald, New Writing Scotland, Orphan Leaf Review, Peace News, Poetry Scotland).

An American fanzine www.geygallus.com was recently set up with Rab's written work, video clips, links to his TV and radio features, blog etc

Hi Rab,

How did the Wolf project go? I came upon your question too late, but please join my Animal Stories group and ask away if you have any others.

Hello Rab,
I'm sorry for the long delay in accepting your offer of "friendship" - this is my first semi-serious attempt at social networking. I often just don't think about the site. What prompted you to want to make this connection with me?

I do actually, and just this week have made a resolution to become more knowledgeable on Celtic traditions, stories, and mythology! Got any suggestions?

Hello Rab from a fellow Irish storyteller, albeit one who has lived out her adult life in York (that's Old York). Thanks for your kind invitation and hope you enjoy your next project. I too lurch from one all-consuming demand on my time to the next, as my family howl in protest. At the minute it's the first ever York Festival of Storytelling, on the 18th, thank goodness, as that means it's nearly over!

Hello Rab, I saw you so many times on youtube :-)
I'm planning to move to UK early next year. I was suggested to go to Scotland, as I love rainy, windy and cold weather, but I would be interested in Ireland too. Could you please give me some suggestion? Thanks. Diana

Dear Rab,

Welcome to the site. I was in Glaway with my family a few summers ago and had a great time. I even got to play my banjo with some local musicians at the Crane Pub. I tell a fair number of Irish and Scottish tales and play bagpipes, mandolin etc.
