Irish Balladeer at Matawan at Matawan Aberdeen Library

March 12, 2017 from 1pm to 2pm
I will be performing my “Irish Balladeer Show” on Sun. March 12th at the Matawan Aberdeen Library at 1 pm. The show combines Irish storytelling, singing and step dancing accompanied by banjo, mandolin, guitar, concertina, bones, bodhran, pennywhistle and bagpipes. I've performed the show at the John F. Richard Stillman in The Spirit of Vaudeville at Watchung Arts Center

Musician & storyteller Richard Stillman and guitarist Flip Peters will perform, "The Spirit of Vaudeville" at the WATCHUNG ARTS CENTER on April 16th at 8 pm. The Spirit of  Vaudeville won the BEST CONCERT AWARD at the 2014 United Solo Theater Festival in NYC. On Saturday Dec. 5th at 2 pm Richard Stillman & Paul Byrne will be performing the Holiday Troubadors Show at the Ellmont Library in Queens, NY. I work in Scotland, and run storytelling groups with people with addictions and a history of homelessness, as well as other types of storytelling. You seem a talented musician as well as a storyteller!

Dear Richard,
Surrealist Morris Dancing. What is it? That is a good question. In the UK a few years back the licening laws on public performance changed making it much more restrictive as to what done without applying to the local courts for the correct licence (and fee!!!).

However Morris Dancers were excluded. So by performing surrealist morris dancing, (which by definition can mean anything), I can "do my thing" and stay within the law.

Now does that make sense?
