Professional Storyteller is a network for people who work in the field of oral storytelling. Please write a brief paragraph about your work.
I lost my job in December, and would prefer not to go back to the corporate world, unless the most amazing job falls in my lap. It probably won't. After thinking about what I want to do, it finally dawned on me that I enjoy telling stories. I've been a Toastmaster since 1997 with memberships in two simultaneous clubs. It was there that I realized I like telling stories. I'm seriously thinking about this, and so far haven't changed my mind. I'm joing to find out what it's really like to be a professional story teller.

New to the ancient art of storytelling

Hi, everyone,

I'm new to this site and to the ancient art of storytelling. I have some questions, and I hope you will share some of your experiences with me.

When I lost my job as a specialized librarian (engineering) four months ago, all I knew was that I did not want to go back to the corporate world. Welcome, Rita!

Toastmasters have done a lot to interest public speakers in trying storytelling.  I hopw you find the many groups, blogs, forum questions, & varied membership a good resource in your discoveries.
