Professional Storyteller is a network for people who work in the field of oral storytelling. Please write a brief paragraph about your work.
I currently work as a Speech & Language Therapist in a psychiatric hospital and use storytelling as part of my work. The Service Users I work with have difficulties with communication so using storytelling is a way of supporting more effective communication as it encompasses so many language and social interaction functions. Some of the communication work that I do with Service Users includes working on projects that are submitted to the Koestler Awards (www.koestlertrust.org.uk).

Hi Suzie,

You may find my website http://www.LoiS-sez.com & my blog http://storytellingresearchlois.blogspot.com worth looking at for some of my writing on puppetry & ways you can easily incorporate it into your storytelling without the usual stage method.  If you go to http://www.puppethub.com you can join my group there called Out Front with My Puppet for even more ideas.

Hope that helps as there's always more possible in storytelling & puppetry.
