No. My mom's family name was Johnson. Some of my relatives are: Glenna Maker, Gary Johnson, Richard Johnson and son Damon are dentists/oral surgeons in OKC, Jo Johnson (my aunt retired and volunteers at the Round Barn), Linda and David Causey - to name a few.
I'm not sure about the Deer Creek area, I'll ask. I tease my family when I'm there. I tell them that I don't see how on earth they find their way around without mountains and curves and hollows! I do have to use my GPS system when I'm there, otherwise I'd still get lost! I do have an aunt at Waterloo - do you know that area?
I was so interested when I saw that you are from Edmond! I have lots of family in the area - Arcadia, Luther, Jones, Mustang, OK City, and Edmond. My mother was born and raised in Arcadia, met my dad during WW II, married and moved to KY. But, I come to OK often to visit relatives. I consider it my second home. Maybe when I'm there next we can meet, I sure would like that.
What a great site PS has become and what a great community of tellers. Forgive me for being so late in greeting you. Recently my heart decided to throw a little surprise party at the emergency room... not a heart attack just Pericarditis (non-lethal... only painful condition). I am recovering nicely, was able to go ahead and get married and move. So you might forgive my late greeting. Hope you join some of the groups... mine will pick back up as I get more settled into our new routines. Anyway... welcome to PS and I hope you learn to love it and this wonderful collection of tellers as much as I do.
Greetings and welcome to this great site. I hope you find it useful. Would you consider joining the Applied Storytelling: the Power of Story group? We would love to have wisdom and insights added to the discussions and would welcome you starting some of your own! Best wishes to you. STEVE
