Bravo and welcome. We would be very interesting in hearing some of the stories you wrote.....many of us came to storytelling ina very round about way, so welcome to the club! Very cool. Follow along and see what works for you. Patti
Top Left column as you look at your page, you should see the Teller's image/picture, beneath which is the phrase "Add as Friend" - click on that...then, sometimes, that phrase changes to "Request Sent!" - which lets you know that (duh) your request has been sent....
If you scroll all the way to the top of your page, you will see a couple of icons just to the right of your name - an envelope, and a cartoon human image; check regularly to see if there is the word "New!" next to the images; if so, it means either that you've got a new message (click on envelope), or a 'Friend' Request (click on human image, then, select either ACCEPT or REJECT the request to be someone's 'Friend.'
I'm sure you're still discovering what a great site PS.ning is; I've been here since the beginning (well, the first few hours, anyway), and I'm still discovering things about it!
I join with Buck in encouraging you to find those Forum discussions that interest you, and/or join other groups that speak to you in your situation, or which address your passion(s); if there's nothing here that speaks to you, then, create it yourself, and others will thank you for it.
What sort of things do you write? Is your work as an artist tied into your writing?
What was your teaching career about? I retired last year from public high school teaching in Texas, and am still recovering....can't quite seem to knock this smile off my face....
Taught college/univ. for several years - VERY different, as you probably know -
Anyway, would like to learn more about you, so hope you share some of your work with us on PS.ning. Wish you the best as you follow your journey, look forward to your contributions to this site (because, almost without question, they will help someone "out there" - ) and, again, send my greetings and Welcome!
I am glad to know that you write stories.. I would love to read some of them. Maybe you can post some and ask people to request permission to tell them if they like them. Also post some of your illustrations... people are always writing books and need illustrators... who knows you might stir up some work. I noticed you haven't joined any groups yet... I would recommend perhaps StoryBiz and Marketing... for starters. Just from what I know aobut you... and that is precious little I admit. But that will change with time.
Welcome to a wonderful place for storytellers. Lots of people to meet and lots of folks to share your ideas with... learn from... teach... check out the groups... the forums the fun videos...
