About Me:
middle school librarian, media & technology specialist, graduate instructor at johns hopkins university

living history re-enactor, role-player, thespian, privateer wench,

virtual victorian steampunk,
>
keen trivia player, redhead & irreverent snarky troublemaker.

gwyneth is an award-winning painfully shy and oh so humble midde school library media/technology specialist in the DC metro area who likes to incorporate wiki's, blogs, vlogs, and podcasting (OhMy!) storytelling, collaborating, and FUN into her curriculum.

teaming with noted Newfoundland story teller Mr. Dale Jarvis and her English Teachers she created a unit called Many Voices, Many Stories, & Many Lands: a 6th Grade English Folklore Unit incorporating TeacherTube and virtual storytelling via Second Life.

being a natural and unrepentant attention-seeking big-mouth she loves to read and tell stories to kids, colleagues, and unsuspecting strangers in market queues. she promises though not to take staged pictures of herself in dramatic poses nor to blabber on and on in the third person. ......erm, what? oh blast! ok...so ditch that last part! though she is not a professional storyteller per se, she seeks to bring those to her school and county who are to enrich the lives of her students. so that they will be led into the "forest of creativity....and drink from the elixir of imagination they discover the power of imagery, the magic of vocal characters, and the treasure of language."

ok, like yeah...i totally stole that. sounds good though, huh?

Hey Gwyneth! I see you've left a comment for Giles... Have you ever heard his voice? It is pure heaven. 'Melted chocolate' doesn't do it justice.

My books are for middle graders. 'Snowbone' is especially popular with our Year 7, which is age 11-12. The English covers look too young, I think. I much prefer the US Knopf editions. Peter Brown has done a great job.

Ah, my shows... I do lots of dark, sexy stuff. Some savage ghost stories! All very atmospheric, full of stillness and shadows. But I'm big on romance too. I adore medieval love tales, especially when there are girls locked away in high towers, gazing longingly across barren landscapes. And I love dark fairy tales.

I'm reading Twilight at the moment and have fallen madly in love with Edward Cullen. No surprise there. How could anyone resist?! I'm not sure about the guy playing him in the movie, though I've only seen the trailer. Perhaps I should reserve judgment till I've seen the movie! Cat x

Sure, we all keep a bottle (or four currently) in the hoose for medicinal purposes. I was forcing the golden richess down my wife's throat only today. She's nae sae much o' a fan, but it is winter and needs must.

I know the certain establishments of manufacture you refer to in Oban and on Islay. I have visited them often. Indeed I did a gig for Oban distillery and came away with a bottle of thanks. Hard life sometimes. So you like the manly offerings from the Isle of Islay? (not for girls, of both sexes).

Not sure what the "friends" thing is for, frankly. Seems like a collection without purpose? If you can explain it to me, I might do something other than ignore them as I have done after the first few.
