Ahh, yes - "Patience is a virtue" . . . I've heard that before - often, tho, it's much easier said than done! Still, I know you and your daughter will knock this out in due time. Don't despair! It's gonna be worth it ~
Looking forward to it -
Thank you for the friend request. My daughter used to create life size and body puppets when she was in her teens. She loved Jim Henson's work and studied some techniques for creating and delivering a performance with puppets. She's moved on to animation. For a brief moment she was working in the youth department at Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, TX with the youth director who launched an animation project at the church. I don't know if it continued but it was a great experience for her. Right now her heart is in animation and she'd like to continue. I think she would be totally awestruck that you do this- puppetry- as a ministry. During her homeschooling years she created an animation of a friend's deceased dog that past away with cancer. The woman said her dog had been part of the family for years and it meant everything to her that my daughter spent time with her dog to get to know its personality and captured his essence in the animated portrait. Can you tell I'm excited about your work and I want my daughter to connect with you? I've been trying to get her on professional storyteller... I think this is going to do it!!
Isn't Nyota lovely? She's one of a kind and was made by Verna Finley. I attended two International Vent Conventions in Las Vegas and found her their...it was fantastic!...I don't think their doing them in Vegas anymore, but the vent community is a wonderful thing. I also have "Cool Cat"...your moving me to wake him up!
Lets keep in touch!
Hi Shirley.....I love the work you do ....! It must be very nice to work with people in different situations shelters, hospitals, etc. it's true ...you leave a portion of yoursef...but you learn from their lives too and that makes you enjoy your work and feel peace in you heart...I think....
See you soon, Inés
