Old Cajun Year-end Toast

Dear Fellow StoryLovers

This time at the end of the year

is often accompanied by

a reflective look back AND

a hopeful look forward.

One year is dying

and another is about to be born.

To honor this time passage,

Here's an Old Cajun Toast

I heard from my Great Uncle Mose one year :

May your coffin

Be made of the finest wood

From Century-old Cypress trees

That I shall plant

The lady may have been Linda Gorham, the same woman who wrote the foreword to the 2005 edition of a book called The Story Biz… Continue

Little by Little things get done (Aesop 600 BC) Five things I did today for my storytelling

1. I spent part of my lunch studying a chapter out of Robert McKee's book..."Story." There is a discussion about Unity & Variety, Pacing, Rhythm & Tempo, Social & Personal Progression, Symbolic & Ironic Ascension, and the Principles of Transitions.
