New Year, New Company, New Plans

Greetings and Happy 2012

What an adventurous year it has been already!  The move to London was a great success, and I am settled in to living right near the lovely South Bank and all that it has to offer.  I had the pleasure of performing at the Crick Crack Club's Festival of Fairy Tales for Grown Ups at the impressive Barge House, OXO Tower along the River Thames in December.  It was a multi disciplinary event, with beautiful art installations, shadow puppetry, short films, live…

involved in putting storytelling ("Märchenerzählen") on the Austrian

UNESCO list. This took already place in April, and tomorrow there is… Continue

Festival at the Edge; post festival thoughts

Festival at the Edge...FatE, the best named festival for storytelling in the world? quite possibly!

Invited by the lovely and talented Pete and Sue Chand, I landed in the Shropshire countryside on Thursday evening to a warm cottage, a table full of samosas and wine and world renowned storytellers Len Cabral (and his lovely wife Judy) and Kasper Sorenson.

FEST: Federation of European Storytelling...August 11-13th, Reading England, come along!!

Hello my fellow story fiends and friends

A great swelling noise is rising, from the heart of Europe. Some years ago storytellers gathered from near and far and asked how they could build a European Community of storytelling. Some wanted more places to work, others wanted to hear what other countries were doing, others simply wanted to connect and grow stronger.

It has tumbled and tossed over the waves of time these last few years and manifested in a great gathering at… Continue

Dearest Storytellers

At a recent conference in Scotland one of the things we hit upon is the

valuable tool for emotional literacy, literacy, development and

community building, but all… Continue

Rosy Glow or False Dawn...Scottish Storytelling Centre's Conference on the Future of Storytelling in Ireland, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland

Hello Story Fiends

I am just back from a lovely gathering of tellers in Scotland at the wonderful Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh. We discussed much and much of what we discussed was that there isn't enough of a profile for storytelling online, about what is happening etc. Professional Storyteller is the great antidote to this, so I thought I would post our discussions from that two day conference on here for your perusal.

It is an exciting time to be a… Continue
