55th Birthday Gary Wittmann

I am excited about May 6, 2008 because I will be turning 55 years old. The other excitement is I will be completing 33 years as a Special Education Teacher in Ferdinand, Indiana. This year has been filled with lots of excitement because I was recognized by the Learning Disabilities Association as Indiana State Teacher of the Year 2007. What a way to end a career! In 1993, I receive the Lilly Endowment Teacher Creavity Award to research family storytelling which has open many doors for me. In May I will be taking that leap of being a full time storyteller.
