Share a Story - Change the World

Hey ya'll,
I just got back from the 2008 National Storytelling Conference in Gatlinburg, TN. Wow! What an awesome event! I was only able to stay for Saturday, but it was still an incredible experience. I got to tell the in South Carolina Showcase and then got to hear numerous tellers from North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, who were all amazing. Also had the oppurtunity to meet some people for the first time (Buck, Dustin, etc.) and see some old friends (Rachel!!!). Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend as much as I did

I don't have any written ones at the moment. I would love to get a copy of yours.

Actually, Rixon created the game Tell-Off and it became a tradition to play at the National Youth Storytelling Showcase. I and a few others were there to throw in our thoughts as it was created, though credit goes to Rixon. I did end up writing instructions. Rixon, have you written instructions for Tell-Off, too?

Until we tell again,

Rachel, Tell me about "Tell-Off." It sounds intriguing, and perhaps we'd like to play it at our 2009 Virginia Gathering. BTW I saw you at Gatlinburg, but you were always deep in conversation with others so I didn"t have a chance to introduce myself. But you look just as hip and interesting as your photos. (Do they still say "hip?") Mimi

Dear Rixon:

I was thrilled to see you again. Sometimes conferences are like family reunions where there is never enough time to chat and catch up on things unless people are willing to stay up to 2am or more.

Perhaps the next conference we could play the advanced storytelling game "Tell-Off" and bring a new tradition to the event.

Until we tell again,

Hey Rixon

We have met before... at NYSS but you were a little more focused at NYSS. I am looking forward to a great bright future for you as a storyteller.
