That's right it is time to turn my attention to 2009. I think you should too. I have already started looking at the holidays... where are they in relationship to the weekends? Thanks to our Congress almost every "one day" holiday is jammed into a Monday. I am compiling my festival list and deciding which ones I want to court and remind myself of which ones are courting me. Where do I want to go again, and which projects do I want to attempt this next year.
So what do I want for 2009
I want an actual vacation... I have not had a personal vacation in four years.
I want to spend some time on my new stories... give myself some persoanl development time too. There are some workshops that I want to participate in or at least I think I do right now. The trick will be in the choosing which and what.
I want to write a new story development workshop that I can deliver online to my storytelling friends.
I know that I definitely want to do the radio shows again this year. XM radio is cool!
I want to help Jeff Gere this year as he develops his NPR radio program.
I definitely want to visit with Eric Wolf on his Podcast... Brother Wolf is the only person on the internet with this type of program and if you are unaware of Storytelling with Children. You have got to get out more... Eric interviews Storytellers across the world via phone and archives and broadcast them to the world via the internet. Want an education about storytelling? Check out his podcast!
Last year the "Telling Goal" was high... 200 times.
This year the "Telling Goal" will be different. I don't know just yet how I am going to manage it. I will wait for the planning meeting with my Office Mgr and Agent before I make a "Goal Declaration." You make a "goal declaration" right?
I have several CDs to produce this year for others, actually one to finish Bruce Walker's and one to start, Bill Watson's. I will need to leave time on the calendar for new production work and new telling work too.
I hope you are also beginning to think about your business year next year.
Man this is exciting.
