WORDPLAY: Games That Teach Storytelling Game #14

NAME:  KA-POW NAME GAME

LEARNING GOAL: PRACTICING SOUND EFFECTS & IMAGINATION BOOSTER

GAME OBJECTIVE:  LEARN THE OTHER TELLER'S NAMES

# OF PARTICIPANTS:  3-30

FORMATION:  SEATED CIRCLE

PROPS:  NONE

LEADER'S ROLE:  Start the Game with an Appropriate Example

DESCRIPTION:  The leader announces that it's time to learn names and practice sound effects.

The sound effect each person will choose should begin with the same letter of sound as the name they prefer to be called.  The leader should say their name first and play should move around the circle where each successive person must name all the people who came before.

Examples:  Ka-Pow Kevin,  Bam Billy,  Wokka-wokka Wendy, Etc.

This is a great starter game, I often invoke the old BATMAN TV show as an example of the type of sound effects that can be used.  As always, play the game, have fun, but contents herein are copyright Anthony Burcher
