Thank you for the welcome, Lois. I first got turned on to storytelling in business based on the work of Milton Erickson, who was the model for NLP. I've been using the method for 32 years, and I can always tell that people get far more from my stories than they do from straight lecture. I'll check out the Stories for Business group. Warm regards, Jim

Thanks LOis,
you are right,I am a english translator,I obtained my bachelor’s degree in translation. I am currently a MA student in Teaching English as a Foreign languages. In a festival called ''Mothers as a storyteller''I obtained the first grade.I try to connect my education with telling story, because I am interested in both of them.I think someone as an storyteller needs to be beside of an english teacher. He can use his art in improving learning english. In most of the classes teachers plays the role of storyteller but it is not correct.because most of them don't know any things about the techniques of telling story,in addition the purpose of the telling story by teacher is teaching but the purpose of telling story by story teller is enjoying.Through telling story by storyteller, learnrs learn indirectly and this is the art of storyteller.
his art in improving learning english.

Well that just weird.  I thought I didn't have one.  But if it's a duplicate, definitely.

You are vigilant!

Thank you Lois.  The one below this "happiness" comment is also of the ilk or is it "ick" :o)?  Appreciate your heads up. Melea

Dear Lois:

What sorts of Yule Lad stories did you friend tell?  Any ideas where your friend got them?  I know the tradition but not any specific stories.

Good to hear from you,

Hi Lois,

I didn't realize your comment was here until just now, LOL. I guess I need to hop on Prof. Storyteller more often. Thanks for connecting.

How is your storytelling life going?

thank you so much for the warm welcome and the information and suggestions. I look forward to becoming a part of the Storytelling community. As I am new to all of this and frankly feel quite isolated from all the festivals and workshops I have been discovering I am hoping the information I gather and friends and contacts I hope to make through the site will bring me a little closer :)
Kindest regards,

Sorry to take so long to click the friend button. Haven't been on the site for awhile.  It's always good to hear any advice you have, my wife and I are working more and more with puppets along with our storytelling and music.
